Here's a link to another blog with information on HB60, the law which allows undocumented students to pay in-state tuition instead of the outrageously expensive out-of-state tuition. The Nuestra Voz Walk-a-Thon was held to raise funds for the Stephanie's Gift: Make a Difference Scholarship, which will be given to a high school student or undergraduate from the local communities of Stone Park, Northlake, Melrose Park, and its neighbors. Here is a list of the scholarship requirements:
- Be a high school senior or currently attending a college or university
- Maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Provide a personal statement (requirements to be determined)
- Proof of volunteerism and service to the community
- One professional reference
